Writing Workshop

The Foolscap Writing Workshop

Workshop Format

Come early to the convention and spend Friday working hands-on with professional writers to develop your writing skills. The workshop comprises sessions of 60 and 90 minutes, and there is a break mid-day for lunch. In each session instructors will focus on a particular writing technique or tool and students will produce pieces of short fiction and other writing. Sessions include “Outlining a Novel,” “Writing a Non-Western World,” and more.

Workshop Registration is Open

Workshop participation is free with your convention membership. However, space in the workshop sessions is limited, so you must sign up in advance. (“Writing the Non-Western World,” scheduled for 3 p.m., has a limit of 6 students. This session is now full, the other 3 sessions still have a bit of room.)
