Foolscap VIII Program (2006)

Workshops

Workshop: Flattery Might Get You Somewhere
Friday, 4:00 pm
Somerset I

Borrowing from the notion that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," this workshop offers writers a series of key opening paragraphs from famous science fiction & fantasy novels from which they can select. Then they briefly discuss tools for literary mimicry, then recreate the opening paragraphs into something altogether new. These exercises can help writers approach new projects. Limited to 8 people. Sign up at registration
Instructor, Tamara Sellman, 2 hours.
