The Redmond Marriott Town Center is conveniently located in the Redmond Town Center-Redmond’s beautiful open air shopping center, providing ease of shopping and dining. Located only 10 miles from Seattle and adjacent to Bellevue, Redmond has a population of 46,000 and is one of the fastest-growing cities in Washington State. The Marriott Hotel is completely non-smoking, and features high-speed wireless internet access.
Our function space will be the Elk River, Lewis River and Bear River rooms, in addition to the Alder Creek room. We have the pre-function space and the little lobby near us as well as a formal registration desk just off the pre-lobby. We are both a short walk from the elevators to your rooms and well away from any room that might have issues with our “noise” - it’s the best of both worlds! There is both a restaurant that serves a killer breakfast and a bar (yes folks, Foolscap has grown to include a bar)! There is also a lounge outside of both the formal bar and the formal restaurant, where you can sit near a fireplace and read a good book.
Rates are $124, which includes parking. We know this rate is higher than in the past. This year, the Sheraton’s rate also changed significantly over past years and as both rates are comparable, we decided to take the advantages offered by this particular site - and they are many.
From a really good in house restaurant to a lovely bar in the hotel, the Marriott has a lot more to offer. There is a pool on the second floor, as well as free parking across the street (garage parking) for day trippers and free parking under the hotel for those staying on property. In addition, there’s more than 25 great places to get food within a three-block walking distance (and most of that under cover), including both Starbucks and Tully’s (Tully's is across the street from the hotel) and one of the best Thai places in the Puget Sound (Thai Ginger). The Marriott staff is clearly jazzed to work with us, and senior management is interested in making our stay a great one. We are looking forward to this new venue, and we hope you are as well! The Seattle Times forecast tends to be the most accurate. Remember, this is a maritime climate and therefore, very changeable.
In general, in Seattle, in September, a single day can feature temperatures ranging from 40 F to 75 F, and there’s always the rain, which can range from heavy mist to outright downpour.
Anything might happen over a three-day weekend. Even three days of solid sunshine.
This means your best defense is a recent weather report and the layered look. A sweater over a shirt, blouse, or teeshirt, plus a light raincoat or jacket will cover most situations. An umbrella is almost always a good idea.
