Art Show Mission

  • To reflect our areas of interest: science fiction, fantasy and comics
  • To showcase good work
  • To introduce new artists to people at the convention
  • To feature new material each year

We encourage new and innovative work that may challenge the boundaries of fantastic art without stepping outside the field. We will consider all art, of course, but may reject displays featuring media and non-genre artwork as inappropriate for our show.

Information for Artists

As Foolscap is devoted to “flat things,” preference may be given to 2D artwork, though ample room will be given for 3D art. We try to hang originals at the show, but we also provide a “print shop” for those who would prefer to sell only prints.

Artwork may be displayed for sale or labeled “not for sale.” Artwork is expected to remain on display throughout the entire weekend of the Foolscap convention.

Our display panels are 6′ tall by 4′ wide; the bottom two feet are close to the floor and not very usable. Panels cost $12 each. After you’ve been approved by Art Show, you can send the fee for your panel or panels by check to:

Artists are asked to hang their art Friday between noon and 4 p.m. Work can be picked up Sunday from 12:30 p.m. through 5 p.m.

Hours

Friday 4 – 8 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
