Volunteers

Foolscap is looking for volunteers to help out at the convention. If you’re interested in helping at the convention, please contact our volunteer coordinator.

Program

Any Foolscap member can be a program participant. If you are interested, please let us know. Now is also a good time to send us your panel ideas.

Nanobites

Foolscap’s banquet is called Nanobites. You must be a member of Foolscap to attend the banquet. The price is $26. Click here to view last year’s menu.

Reading Group

Beginning with Foolscap VIII we started a Reading Group. For Foolscap 11, we chose Legacy, by Greg Bear. If you would like to recommend a book for Foolscap 12, please contact us.

Marie Antoinette Memorial Masque

Foolscap 11’s Marie Antoinette Memorial Masquerade — costuming from the neck up only — was a huge success, so look for it again this year! Information and a fill-in pdf registration form will be forthcoming.

Art Show

Foolscap 12 continues the tradition of featuring original artwork from professionals and newcomers on an invitational basis. To be considered for invitation, prospective artists should submit samples of artwork to our jury. The Foolscap 11 art show sold out, so be sure to reserve your space.

Foolscap Auction

Each year, Foolscap holds an auction to help defray some of our expenses. If you have an item you would like to donate, please email us or use this form, to let us know, and we can make arrangements to get it to Foolscap.

Foolscap Blog

Foolscap has a blog of its own at Live Journal (“foolscapseattle”). Here’s a short FAQ:

Can I get there if I don’t have a live journal account?
Yes. Simply post as anonymous and sign it anyway you wish.

Can I make a live journal account?
Yes. It’s free if you want it to be (basic account level), with full posting privleges.

Must I use my real name?
Your choice. You can create a live journal account under any “handle” you choose.

General Information

We continue to add to our string of fools, with this year’s convention, once again featuring flat things and funny hats, an art show, programming, a dealers’ room and a feast.

Foolscap 12 will be September 24 to September 26, 2010 — a great way to start the fall convention season and a lovely time of year in the Seattle area.

We hope you’ll continue your tradition of supporting Foolscap by buying your membership for 2010 now.

Membership rates will be higher at the door. By purchasing your membership now, you save money and provide Foolscap with the early support it needs to be a wonderful convention.
